San Clemente Elopement

San Clemente Elopements

Intimate beach ceremonies at T-Street and the San Clemente Pier — thoughtfully planned and beautifully documented.

Why Couples Choose San Clemente

San Clemente elopements offer wide beaches, relaxed energy, and coastal views that make intimate ceremonies feel natural and unforced.

San Clemente has always felt a little different. It’s still a laid-back surf town at heart — relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious. The beaches are wide and open, the pier stretches out into the horizon, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Catalina.

But what makes it special for a wedding isn’t just the view.

It’s the feeling. The way the ocean breeze keeps things light. The way sunset turns everything warm and unhurried. The way a ceremony here feels intimate instead of staged.

If you’re planning something calm, coastal, and meaningful, San Clemente makes that easy.

Planning a Beach Wedding in San Clemente

One of the best parts about getting married on the beach in San Clemente is that it can stay simple. For smaller ceremonies — under about twenty people — you typically don’t need a permit. That means fewer hoops and more freedom.

What matters more than paperwork is timing.

Tides change the shape of the beach. A low tide gives you more room, cleaner sand, and better options for portraits. Sunset shifts throughout the year, and the light near the pier looks very different in June than it does in October.

When we plan beach weddings here, we’re not just picking a date. We’re reading tide charts. We’re watching sunset times. We’re choosing the window where the beach feels open and the light feels effortless.

That’s what keeps it relaxed.

Beaches We Love in San Clemente

Every stretch of coastline here feels a little different. The right one depends on the kind of energy you want for your ceremony.

T-Street
Easy access, wide sand at lower tides, and a relaxed local feel. It’s one of the most flexible spots for small gatherings.

San Clemente Pier
Iconic and classic. The pier gives you that unmistakable coastal backdrop, especially at sunset when the light wraps around the wood and water.

Linda Lane
Tucked slightly away from the main crowds. It feels quieter, a little more private, and works beautifully for intimate ceremonies.

Mariposa

More secluded and dramatic — and one of our favorites when the timing lines up. Mariposa is only accessible during extreme low tides (what we call “negative tides”), when the water pulls back enough to open up the sand. On those days, you can literally get married with your toes in the water and the cliffs rising behind you.

We always check tide charts and plan around them — but just because we do the research doesn’t mean Mother Nature always cooperates. When it does, though, it’s magic.

Elopement Tip

Sunsets on the coast are beautiful — and breezy. A quick reminder for guests to bring a light layer keeps everyone happy once the sun dips.

Is San Clemente the Right Fit for You?

San Clemente works beautifully for couples who want something relaxed but meaningful. If you’re drawn to open beaches, ocean air, and a ceremony that feels natural instead of staged, this stretch of coastline makes that easy.

It’s especially perfect for smaller gatherings — where the focus stays on the two of you, not the production around you.

A courthouse ceremony followed by portraits along the Dana Point cliffs is another popular option for couples planning a simple elopement.
