Laguna Beach
elopement experience
A simple, coastal elopement designed to move from city hall to the ocean — without overcomplicating the day.
A Laguna Beach Elopement
That Flows to the Ocean
Most weddings take months to plan.
This one doesn’t.
The Laguna Beach Elopement Experience moves naturally from City Hall, through downtown, and out to the coast.
No rigid timeline. No unnecessary steps. Just a relaxed wedding day that feels real instead of staged.
Ceremony at Laguna Beach City Hall
Laguna Beach City Hall keeps the ceremony simple and straightforward.
A valid California marriage license is required and is typically handled ahead of time through the Orange County Clerk-Recorder. We’ll help you understand what needs to be taken care of before the day so there are no surprises.
Once you’re married, we move into downtown Laguna Beach for portraits before finishing along the coast.
If you want to learn more about how we approach these, you can read more about us here.
Portraits Through
Downtown Laguna Beach
After the ceremony, we walk through downtown Laguna Beach for portraits.
Forest Avenue gives us architecture, open shade, textured walls, and small tucked-away spots that change throughout the day.
Nothing needs to feel staged. We move, adjust to the light, and let the city give us the backdrop.
Finishing at the Ocean
From downtown, it’s a short walk to Main Beach.
We usually time this portion later in the day, when the light softens and the pace slows down.
It’s a simple way to finish the experience — portraits by the water with room to breathe and enjoy the fact that you’re actually married.

Everything You Actually Need to Know
What if Laguna Beach is crowded?
Laguna is almost always active — and that’s part of the experience.
The energy adds to the day, and we work with it, not against it. Clean images are always a priority, but we’ll also lean into a few fun moments along the way that make the day feel real and memorable.
Is this a traditional elopement?
Not really — and that’s the point.
This is designed as a fun, flexible wedding day experience. You still get everything that matters, just without the pressure, structure, or expectations of a traditional elopement.
Do we need a permit for a Laguna Beach elopement?
It depends on the location, guest count, and how the ceremony is set up. Many Laguna Beach locations have specific permit requirements, so we’ll help you understand what applies to your plans before anything is finalized.
